Job SummaryDirector of Equestrian Operations (ATH PROFL 3 BYA)Under the general direction of the Sr. Associate Athletics Director with ancillary supervision from the Equestrian Head Coach, responsible for Equestrian team horse care and barn activities, and working with the head coach to develop and monitor overall budget and day-to-day administration of the program. Administrative duties include but not limited to recruiting, travel, meals, and supplies/equipment expenses, including an understanding/application of campus financial operating system and policies. Monitor and work with equestrian coaching staff to ensure compliance with all applicable NCAA, conference and institutional rules. Practice supervision when coaches are traveling.

- High School Diploma/GED
- Skill to multi-task and work in a very busy/stressful environment with frequent interruptions.
- Computer skills to develop and maintain efficient modes of communication, compliance, budget and database management.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience operating a tractor.
- Equestrian experience with NCEA team format.
- Knowledge of intercollegiate sport structure, including NCAA, conference and institutional rules, as they apply to UC Davis.
- Organizational and management skills to develop and oversee all administrative requirements in relations to the Equestrian program.
- Knowledge of budgetary, fiscal, fund accounting and bookkeeping principles and practices, managing the budgets prepare required reports and projections.
- Interpersonal, customer service, oral and written communication skills to work effectively and establish cooperative working relationships with persons from diverse backgrounds and at various organizational levels within and outside the University.
